The Solar Bears Florida Ale label redesign was all about channeling the high-energy, fast-paced spirit of Orlando’s hometown hockey team into a beer that fans could rally behind. This 5% ABV Florida Ale, brewed locally by Ivanhoe Park Brewing, needed a label that matched the speed, aggression, and fun of the game—and as a lifelong Solar Bears fan, I was all in. Inspired by childhood memories of games, vintage jerseys, and the pure chaos of a good slapshot, I created an explosive illustration featuring hockey sticks, pucks, skates, and snowflakes bursting from behind the Solar Bears logo. The typography took a backseat to the visuals, which carried the intensity and motion of the sport straight into the hands of the fans.

Although this project was done through an advertising agency, I maintained my signature Chill Artistry style by focusing on bold, hand-drawn illustration with an energetic edge. Collaborating directly with the Solar Bears team, I had a lot of creative freedom, and their minimal edits allowed me to fully infuse the design with my personal connection to the brand. The reception was incredible: the beer sold out before halftime at nearly every game, and the label was voted Orlando Weekly’s 2025 Best Local Beer Label. It was a dream project that blended fandom, design, and community pride—proving just how powerful good design can be when it speaks directly to the hearts of its audience.
