About the event
It's me, Ollie, and I'm finally teaching my first bookmaking class! During this class, we will learn the Coptic stitch bookbinding technique. If you've ever seen my books, you know the Coptic stitch... It is my personal favorite. The exposed, decorative, glue-free spine allows your handmade book to lay completely flat when opened.
In this class you will learn the basics of bookbinding: how to fold a signature, how to use an awl to punch holes, and how to sew the signatures together. This will be a small class, so all attendees will get some one-on-one time to ask questions. Everyone will leave with a their very-own, handmade sketchbook and a plastic bone folder to make more books at home!
